100 years of history

A Brief History

La Fanfare de la Verrerie was founded in 1916 by Henri Cornaz, director of the Verrerie de St-Prex. The aim of the company had a social objective and the majority of the musicians recruited themselves within the factory workers.


Pierre Röthlisberger led our ensemble for 18 years (1977 to 1995), the record will be beaten a few years later by Mrs.Sooa Chung with 19 years of leadership (2001 to 2020) at the head of our ensemble and since september 2020 by Mr Basile Kohler.

During these years, the band has grown and the musical level has increased, which currently allows our band to play in 2nd section at regional contests.
